Field trip to a Design Studio
Julia and I were talking yesterday about taking a group field trip to visit a real design studio, but we weren't sure who would be really exciting to visit. There's Cubicle Ninjas in Glen Ellyn, but I'm thinking it would be fun to go see someplace that's been around for a while, maybe someplace in Chicago.
Lets start collecting some local design places here that we could possibly visit. Heck, this would be good research for future internships or DARE I SAY IT... jobs.

Lets take a look at these and decide which one we'd most like to visit. If you know of any other places you'd like to look into, give us a link in this thread.
I'd have to look at the sites of the studios, but I see that yorke print shop in Lombard is on the list. They do some really cool work, so I think it'd be beneficial for everyone to visit.

I liked Brain Forest and Lowercase.
Dare you say it maybe right Dave, just a dare. I took a field trip the previous year to a Chi GD firm and no one I knew of from our school got a spot. At that time, the young woman that got the last job, had to try 17 times in the windy city to find a firm that would hire. They had desktop Apples just like our school. Any dates proposed for this trip? Obviously, after winter would be best.

We definitely should check out Brain Forest. I heard lots of good things from people who visited before. I'd also like to check out Lowercase and pretty much any of the other places suggested. Just propose the date and I'm there!
Let pick one place. It seem that most are wanting to look Brain Forest. I'm available Monday mornings and afternoon ( 10am-4pm),Fridays same time and then free on weekends. Lets take a vote, count me in for Brainforest.
